Akash Uppal

Akash Uppal is an Affiliate Researcher Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. He is working at the Yale Economic Growth Center (EGC) as a Postgraduate Associate. He supports research initiatives at Inclusion Economics, working on issues of discrimination, financial inclusion, and economic development. Previously, he worked in the International Economic Analysis department of the Bank of Canada. He holds an MA in International and Development Economics from Yale University and a Bachelor of International Economics (BIE) from the University of British Columbia.

Amar Chetri

Amar is Operations Assistant at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. He takes care of Delhi office maintenance and support. He takes care of stationery and pantry supplies stock and provides the list based on the requirements. He had experienced in working with Good Service Private Ltd and Anov IP as Operation Assistant

Ankush Asri

Ankush Asri is an Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Konstanz at the Department of Economics and at the Excellence Cluster “The Politics of Inequality”. He works as a Principal Investigator in the Agents of Social Change Project (AoSC) at IEIC.

He is an experimental economist examining the factors affecting intergroup relations in a culturally diverse society and the consequences of inequality of opportunity based on caste and gender. He uses lab experiments, field experiments and quasi-experimental analysis of large-scale surveys for his research. 

He has a PhD from the University of Bologna and studied Economics from Delhi School of Economics.

अंकुश असरी आईएफएमआर इंक्लूजन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर में एक संबद्ध शोधकर्ता हैं। वह कोन्स्टान्ज़ विश्वविद्यालय के अर्थशास्त्र विभाग और उत्कृष्टता क्लस्टर “असमानता की राजनीति” में पोस्टडॉक्टरल शोधकर्ता हैं। वह IEIC में एजेंट्स ऑफ सोशल चेंज प्रोजेक्ट (AoSC) में प्रधान अन्वेषक के रूप में काम करते हैं।

Anwesha Bhattacharya

Anwesha Bhattacharya is a Public Policy Ph.D. student at Harvard University and collaborator with Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University as a doctoral student. Her research interests are centered on questions in development economics and political economy, with a focus on gender. Prior to joining Harvard, she worked with Inclusion Economics India Centre on the Women’s Mobile Access study in Chhattisgarh as a Senior Research Associate. Anwesha received her MA in International and Development Economics at Yale University and has a BA in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi.

Chandan Sinha

Chandan Sinha is a Senior Project Assistant at Inclusion Economics India at Krea University. He works on projects in Bihar related to challenges around financial inclusion for women, and ways to enhance implementation of government schemes such as MGNREGS. He has previously worked as a field manager with J-PAL South Asia at IFMR.

Chandan holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya.

Charity Troyer Moore

Charity Troyer Moore is Director for South Asia Economics Research at Yale University’s MacMillan Center. She is an Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University, where she provides strategic direction and oversight of research, policy and capacity building engagements in India and other countries in South Asia for a portfolio of work co-led with faculty at Yale University. Charity’s research examines public service delivery and governance in the bureaucracy; the drivers and potential solutions to India’s low female labour force participation, with a focus on the ways in which current policy initiatives can put women on better footing as economic agents; land rights; and social protection programs, notably public works and cash transfer programs. Prior to her current position at Yale, she held multiple roles at Harvard Kennedy School’s Evidence for Policy Design, most recently as India Research Director, where she co-founded EPoD India at IFMR. Charity holds an M.A. in Economics and Ph.D. in Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics from The Ohio State University.

Deanna Ford

Deanna Ford is an Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. She is a Managing Director at Inclusion Economics and Senior Adviser at EGC. Her expertise includes Organizational strategy and development of university-based research centers focused on utilizing the insights of economics for policy impact, Approaches and measurement frameworks for leveraging data and research for policy decision-making and  Management and operational systems for high quality research center and program implementation. 

Prior to this she was the Executive Director of EPoD at Harvard Kennedy School, where she leads partnership development, strategic planning and oversight of programme operations. Deanna completed her Master of Public Policy at Georgetown University in 2007 and her BA in economics at Princeton University in 2003.

Dinesh Gupta

Dinesh Gupta is a Senior Project Assistant at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. He is working on the mobile access project related to women and mobile technology in Chhattisgarh. Prior to this he worked as a Supervisor on Ujjawala Yojana project at IFMR Lead in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He also worked as hospital coordinator at Vidal health TPA under government Policy RSBY/MSBY, in Raipur. Dinesh holds PGDCA degree from C V Raman university and Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and telecommunication from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University.

Erik Jorgensen

Erik Jorgensen is an affiliate researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. Erik is a Research Manager with Inclusion Economics at Yale University, covering the gender portfolio of projects. Prior to joining IE, he spent four years in Liberia with IPA and the World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs practice, where he coordinated impact evaluations on programs spanning cash transfers, youth employment, and agriculture. In addition to these impact evaluations, he also provided technical support to project management teams from Liberia’s Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection and Ministry of Youth and Sports. Prior to his work in Liberia, Erik received a Master’s degree in African Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. At IE, Erik is excited to support the center’s work in promoting research and evidence-informed policy that improves the social end economic well-being of women.

Jenna Allard

Jenna Allard is a Senior Research Manager at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University and  MacMillan Center, where she supports gender and governance-related policy evaluations in India and Nepal. She has previously worked as a Senior Research Manager at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and has additional experience working on energy and environment issues in private, non-profit, and policy sectors. Jenna holds an MPP in Public Policy from the University of Chicago Harris School, and a Masters in Global Development Economics from Boston University.

Lalita Sahu

Lalita Sahu is a Senior Project Assistant at Inclusion Economics Indi Centre at IFMR. She previously worked as a Field Manager on various projects and supported data collection work in Chhattisgarh. She has extensive experience in managing field teams and operations. Lalita holds a Master’s in Sociology from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

Mahreen Khan

I am a Senior Project Assistant at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University, where I am working primarily on the Paydash Project. My base location is Delhi. As part of the Paydash project, I collect the data from various MGNREGA officers and manage the survey teams. Before IEIN, I have worked with Justice Venture Trust on the Bonded Labour Project and at J-PAL South Asia at IFMR and ID insight on health and education projects in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Delhi University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the Indira Gandhi National Open University.

महरीन खानमैं IEIN में  सीनियर प्रॉजेक्ट असिस्टेंट हूँ, जहाँ मैं मुख्य रूप से Paydash प्रॉजेक्ट में काम कर रही हूँ। मेरा बेस लोकेशन दिल्ली है। Paydash प्रॉजेक्ट में विभिन्न मनरेगा अधिकारियों से डेटा एकत्र करती हूं और सर्वेक्षण टीम को मॅनेज  करती हूं। इससे पहले मैंने जस्टिस वेंचर ट्रस्ट के साथ बॉंडेड लेबर प्रॉजेक्ट पर और जे-पाल साउत एशिया में आई एफ एम आर और आईडी इनसाइट में दिल्ली और उत्तर प्रदेश में स्वास्थ्य और शिक्षा प्रोजेस्ट्स पर काम किया है। मेरे पास दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से कला में स्नातक की डिग्री और सोशियल वर्क मैं इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय से  मास्टर डिग्री है ।

Meenakshi Patidar

Meenakshi Patidar is a Senior Project Assistant at Inclusion Economics India Centre Centre at IFMR  based out of Patna. Prior to joining IEIC, she was working with J-PAL South Asia as Field Monitor for Sustainable Livelihood Planning Project in Bihar and has worked on several projects with national and local organizations. Meenakshi holds a B.E. in Electrical and Electronics from Truba Institute of Engineering and Information Technology Bhopal from Rajiv Gandhi University of Technology, Bhopal.

मीनाक्षी पाटीदार इन्क्लूशन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेन्टर पटना में प्रोजेक्ट असिस्टेंट हैं। आईईआईसी में शामिल होने से पहले, मीनाक्षी बिहार में सतत जीविकोपार्जन योजना परियोजना में फील्ड मॉनिटर के रूप में जे-पाल दक्षिण एशिया के साथ काम कर रही थी। इसके आलावा राष्ट्रीय और स्थानीय संगठनों के साथ कई परियोजनाओं पर काम किया है। मीनाक्षी ने राजीव गांधी प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय के ट्रूबा इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ इंजीनियरिंग एंड इंफॉर्मेशन टेक्नोलॉजी भोपाल से बी.ई. किया है।

Pankaj Kumar

Pankaj Kumar is a Project Assistant at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR / Krea University. He is based in Patna and working on the project under the Environment portfolio. He has previously worked as a field manager and Project Assistant with J-PAL South Asia at IFMR and IEIC respectively. Pankaj holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya.

पंकज कुमार, इन्क्लूशन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर, क्रेया यूनिवर्सिटी में प्रॉजेक्ट असिस्टेंट (Consultant) हैं। वह पटना में प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने पहले क्रमशः IFMR और इंक्लूजन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया में J-PAL दक्षिण एशिया के साथ फील्ड मैनेजर और प्रोजेक्ट असिस्टेंट के रूप में काम किया है। पंकज ने मगध विश्वविद्यालय, बोधगया से समाजशास्त्र में स्नातक की डिग्री प्राप्त की है।

Prema Swarupa Saripaka

S Prema Swarupa is working as a Policy Associate at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR, currently working on the D3 project in Bihar. She is based out of our Patna office and her responsibilities include supporting survey implementation, overseeing data collection and contributing to analysis and other research activities across Bihar.

In the past, Prema has worked with research agencies and was in Andhra Pradesh prior to joining Inclusion Economics, working with Bachpan Banao Foundation teaching children from urban poor backgrounds. She has a master’s in Urban Policy and Governance from TISS Mumbai, and a bachelors in Political Science from Sri Venkateshwara College, University of Delhi.

एस प्रेमा स्वरूपा आईएफएमआर में इंक्लूजन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर में रिसर्च कंसल्टेंट के रूप में कार्यरत हैं, वर्तमान में बिहार में डी3 प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर रही हैं। वह हमारे पटना कार्यालय से  हैं और उनकी जिम्मेदारियों में सर्वेक्षण कार्यान्वयन का समर्थन करना, डेटा संग्रह की निगरानी करना और पूरे बिहार में विश्लेषण और अन्य शोध गतिविधियों में योगदान देना शामिल है।

Rajesh Sarma

Rajesh Sarma is a Senior Research Associate at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University, supporting the Indian research team on ongoing research projects in Bihar. His roles and responsibilities include to oversee field operations, field staff management, data monitoring and assisting in data processing. He has an experience of more than two years in the research and management profession. He holds a M.A. degree in Natural Resources and Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad.

Rajesh Surana

Rajesh Surana is a Finance & Admin Manager at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. He is a qualified Accounts, Finance, and Admin Professional with 12 years of experience in the development sector. Prior to joining IEIC, he was associated with Population Foundation of India as a Senior State Admin Officer at the Rajasthan state office. Rajesh has worked in prestigious international organizations including Population Services International (PSI), and Infosys. He has handled State level financial planning, monitoring of Sub-grants, Administration, procurement, contracts, and logistics management. Rajesh holds a Post-Graduate degree in Commerce and MBA in Finance.

Ramzan Ali

Ramzan Ali is a Admin Assistant at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR / Krea University. He is based in Patna and working on the project under the environment portfolio.  Prior to joining as a project assistant with IEIC, he worked on multiple development projects with national and local organizations including as a field manager with JPAL South Asia at IFMR.
Ramzan holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Uttarakhand. He also holds an engineering diploma in mechanical from the Technical university, Uttarakhand

रमजान अली इन्क्लूशन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर, क्रेया यूनिवर्सिटी में  प्रॉजेक्ट असिस्टेंट (Consultant)  हैं।  वह पटना में स्थित है और पर्यावरण पोर्टफोलियो के तहत परियोजना पर काम कर रहा है। आईईआईसी के साथ एक परियोजना सहायक के रूप में शामिल होने से पहले, उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय और स्थानीय संगठनों के साथ कई विकास परियोजनाओं पर काम किया, जिसमें आईएफएमआर में जेपीएएल दक्षिण एशिया के साथ एक फील्ड मैनेजर के रूप में काम किया।
रमजान ने हेमवती नंदन बहुगुणा गढ़वाल विश्वविद्यालय, उत्तराखंड से समाजशास्त्र में स्नातक की डिग्री प्राप्त की है।  उन्होंने तकनीकी विश्वविद्यालय, उत्तराखंड से मैकेनिकल में इंजीनियरिंग डिप्लोमा भी किया है

Rehan Ahmed Khan

Rehan Khan is an Senior HR Manager at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. Rehan brings over 16 years of experience managing business HR functions in a think tank and IT services environment. 

Before joining Inclusion Economics, he was associated with TERI as a Manager – HR wherein he was responsible for building research capabilities and leadership skills of the young researchers, Identifying talent for managing cross-disciplinary research projects, and strengthening people processes for building high-performance teams. 

Rehan holds Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

रेहान खान इन्क्लूशन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर में HR मैनेजर हैं । रेहान को रिसर्च और आईटी सेवाओं के वातावरण में व्यावसायिक मानव संसाधन कार्यों के प्रबंधन का 16 वर्षों का अनुभव है।

इन्क्लूशन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया में शामिल होने से पहले, वह टेरी (TERI) के साथ HR मैनेजर के रूप में जुड़े थे। जिसमें वे युवा शोधकर्ताओं की अनुसंधान क्षमताओं और नेतृत्व कौशल के निर्माण, क्रॉस-डिसिप्लिनरी रिसर्च परियोजनाओं के प्रबंधन के लिए प्रतिभा की पहचान करने और उच्च प्रदर्शन के निर्माण के लिए लोगों की प्रक्रियाओं को मजबूत करने के लिए जिम्मेदार थे। रेहान ने PGDM (HR) और दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से B.Com (Honours) की डिग्री प्राप्त की है।

Rohini Pande

Rohini Pande is the Henry J. Heinz II Professor of Economics and Director of the Economic Growth Center, Yale University. She is a co-editor of American Economic Review: Insights.

Pande’s research is largely focused on how formal and informal institutions shape power relationships and patterns of economic and political advantage in society, particularly in developing countries. She is interested the role of public policy in providing the poor and disadvantaged political and economic power, and how notions of economic justice and human rights can help justify and enable such change.

Sathia Chakrapani

Sathia Chakrapani, is a Research Manager at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University based out of Patna. Prior to joining IEIC, Sathia has worked as a Senior Research Associate at J-PAL South Asia where she was engaged in the NRLM Targeting the Ultra Poor Project in Bihar, which seeks to test the impact of targeting the most disadvantaged households with direct asset transfers and livelihood training (ultimately “graduating” them into microfinance programs). Sathia has also worked with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the domains of Governance, Economy & Public Finance. Sathia holds an MA in Development Studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad and a BA (Honours) in economics from the University of Delhi.

Shivangee Acharya

Shivangee Acharya is a Senior Research Associate at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. She is involved in the Female Bank Account Study based in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The study aims to better understand the effect of financial inclusion on women’s autonomy and labour force participation along with prevalent gender norms in the region. Her responsibilities include implementation of survey, drafting and coding survey instruments, development and oversight of field and quality control protocols, training and managing field staff, and coordination with local and government partners.

Prior to joining IE India, she interned at the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) working on the implementation of a labour market project involving returns to certification. Shivangee holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from Assam Agricultural University, and a B.Sc. from the same. As part of her Master’s thesis, she worked on estimating risk frontiers associated with input use in rice cultivation in flood-prone areas of Assam. Through a remote student exchange program, she has taken a course “Intermediate Development Economics” from Stockholm University.

SIMONE SCHANER

Simone Schaner is Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. She is an Assistant Professor (Research) of Economics at the University of Southern California, an affiliate of the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development, the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, the Center for Effective Global Action, and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

She is a development economist whose research focuses on household decision-making and its intersection with financial access and innovation, health-seeking behaviour, and international migration.

Sitanshu Sekhar Mishra

I am Regional Field Coordinator at Inclusive Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University, where I am working primarily in Paydash Project in Bihar, in this project I administer and collect the data from various MGNREGA officers and manage the survey team. Before that I have worked in Gender & Skills project in Odisha as a Project Assistant from 2017 to 2019. In that Project I worked to manage the survey team and admin part.  Before EPoD I have worked with PRATHAM Organisation as a Block Co-ordinator in Odisha, and MDM, ECD and DBT Project at J-PAL South Asia at IFMR in different districts of Odisha, Chandigarh and Jharkhand states as a Project Associate. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Utkal University of Odisha.   

सितांशु शेखर मिश्र

में IEIN मे सीनियर प्रोजेक्ट असिस्टेंट के रूप मे काम कर रहा हूँ। अभी में प्राथमिक रूप मे  बिहार मे Paydash प्रोजेक्ट मे काम कर रहा हूँ। इस प्रोजेक्ट मे मैं विभिन्न मनरेगा अधिकारियों से डेटा का प्रस्तुत और संग्रह करता हूं और सर्वेक्षण टीम का म्यानेज करता हूंI इससे पहले मैंने 2017 से 2019 तक ओडिशा में जेंडर एंड स्किल्स प्रोजेक्ट में प्रोजेक्ट असिस्टेंट के रूप में काम किया है | उस प्रोजेक्ट में मैंने सर्वे टीम और एडमिन पार्ट को मैनेज करने का काम किया था | ईपीओडी से पहले मैंने ओडिशा में ब्लॉक को-ऑर्डिनेटर के रूप में प्रथम संगठन के साथ काम किया है, और ओडिशा, चंडीगढ़ और झारखंड राज्यों के विभिन्न जिलों में जैपाल साऊथ एशिया at आईएफएमआर में एमडीएम, ईसीडी और डीबीटी प्रोजेक्ट में प्रोजेक्ट एसोसिएट के रूप में काम किया है। मैंने ओडिशा के उत्कल विश्वविद्यालय से कला में स्नातक की डिग्री प्राप्त की है।

Somsiree Kambhu Bryant

Somsiree Kambhu Bryant is an affiliate researcher at the Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. She is the Research Program Manager at Stanford’s Inclusive Democracy and Development (ID2) Lab where she helps to ensure that the many projects in the lab’s portfolio are running smoothly. At the ID2 Lab, she provides both analytical and administrative support for several research initiatives. She graduated from Stanford University in 2022 and previously worked as a research assistant for Dr. Soledad Prillaman throughout her undergraduate career.

Suanna Oh

Suanna Oh is Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University.  She is assistant professor at the Paris School of Economics and a postdoctoral fellow at briq- Institute on Behavior & Inequality

Her research work focuses on studying cultural and behavioral frictions in the labor market using field experiments. She is Ph.D. in Economics, Columbia University and M.A. in Economics, Doctoral Stream, University of Toronto.

सुआना ओह, IFMR/Krea विश्वविद्यालय में इन्क्लूजन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया केंद्र में संबद्ध शोधकर्ता हैं। वह पेरिस स्कूल ऑफ इकोनॉमिक्स में सहायक प्रोफेसर हैं और ब्रिक- इंस्टिट्यूट ऑन बिहेवियर एंड इनइक्वलिटी में पोस्टडॉक्टरल फेलो हैं।

उनका रिसर्च  कार्य क्षेत्र प्रयोगों का उपयोग करके श्रम बाजार में सांस्कृतिक और व्यवहारिक घर्षणों का अध्ययन करने पर केंद्रित है। सुआना ने कोलंबिया विश्वविद्यालय से पीएच.डी. और टोरंटो विश्वविद्यालय से अर्थशास्त्र में एमए की है ।

SURYA R

Surya R is a Senior Research Associate at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. She is currently a part of the Female Bank Account COVID study which is analyzing the long-term impacts of increasing women’s autonomy on gender norms during the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to joining Inclusion Economics India, she worked at PRADAN in Dindori district, Madhya Pradesh as a Project Executive. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).

सूर्या आर इन्क्लूशन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर में एक रिसर्च असिस्टेंट है। वह वर्तमान में फीमेल बैंक अकाउंट (महिला बैंक खाता) कोविड  नामक स्टडी का एक हिस्सा है जो कोविड – 19 महामारी के दौरान लिंग मानदंडों पर महिलाओं की स्वायत्तता बढ़ाने के दीर्घकालिक प्रभावों का विश्लेषण कर रही है।इंक्लूजन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया में शामिल होने से पहले, उन्होंने मध्य प्रदेश के डिंडोरी जिले में एक प्रोजेक्ट एग्जीक्यूटिव के रूप में PRADAN में काम किया है। उन्होंने टाटा इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ सोशल साइंसेज (TISS) से विकास अध्ययन (Development Studies) में MA डिग्री और सामाजिक विज्ञान (Social Sciences) पर BA की डिग्री प्राप्त की है।

Urmi Bhattacharya

Urmi Bhattacharya is a Associate Director Research at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. As a Research Lead she serve as an internal advisor and provides oversight and day-to-day guidance and support to research teams, to ensure we are set up for successful research and effective policy engagement with gender policy counterparts. Advise on research, programmatic, operational, financial and human-resource related issues in service of objectives in our research portfolios. She works with the Executive Director and Research Managers to ensure that broader operational learnings from this vertical inform the development of a high-calibre research team across the organization, in all portfolios.

Prior to joining IEIC, Urmi has worked as the Country Director with Fortify Health, India and Research Manager at J-PAL, South Asia. Urmi holds a PhD  in Economics  from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. She holds a Master in Arts degree in Economics from J.N.U, New Delhi (2006) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Presidency College, Kolkata (2004).

Urvi Naik

Urvi Naik is a Research Manager at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. She is currently working on the FBA COVID study which studies the long-term effects of providing bank accounts on labour force participation and gender norms during COVID-19 pandemic. Her main work involves managing and training field staff, assisting in piloting and coding the survey instruments and implementing appropriate structures and systems for field work. She has also assisted the Migrants team in phone survey implementation and the D3 team in scoping activities. 

She has previously worked as an Associate in a social enterprise on a rural electrification project. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne.

उर्वी नायक इंक्लूजन एकनामिक्स इंडिया सेंटर में रिसर्च कन्सल्टंट है। वह FBA COVID अध्ययन में काम करती है, जिसमें  COVID-19 महामारी के दौरान श्रम दल में महिलाओं की भागीदारी और जेंडर नोर्मस पर बैंक खाते का उपलब्ध कराने के  प्रभावों का अध्ययन करता है।

 पर वर्तमान में काम कर रही है। इस प्रोजेक्ट पर उनका मुख्य काम है फील्ड स्टाफ को मैनेज और ट्रैन करना, सर्वे को पायलट और कोड करना और फील्ड वर्क के लिए संरचनाओं और सिस्टम को लागू करना है। उन्होंने  छत्तीसगढ़ और बिहार में लौटते हुए प्रवासिओं का फ़ोन सर्वे और स्केपिंग गतिविधियों में माइग्रेंट्स टीम और  D3 टीम की भी सहायता की है।   उन्होंने पहले एक सोशल एंटर्प्रायज़ में, ग्रामीण विद्युतीकरण प्रोजेक्ट पर काम किया है। उन्होंने यूनिवर्सिटी ओफ़ पेरिस १ पैन्थियन-सॉर्बान से अर्थशास्त्र में मास्टर डिग्री प्राप्त की है।

Vanshika Singh

Vanshika is a graduate student pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration in Development Practice at Columbia University, SIPA. She has a background in monitoring, evaluation, program development and management with non-profit organisations and research centres. Her current work with the India team at Inclusion Economics involves supporting scale-up efforts and on-ground development economic research in Madhya Pradesh, specifically assessing the impact of women’s financial control on gender norms and labor force participation.

Viola Asri

Viola Asri is Affiliate Researcher at Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR. She is a Senior Researcher at the Chr. Michelsen Institute in Bergen (Norway) and a principal investigator in the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” at the University of Konstanz (Germany). She co-leads the Agents of Social Change Project (AoSC) at IEIC.

She is an applied microeconomist examining how social policy implementation can be improved and how adverse effects from rigid gender norms can be alleviated using field experiments and quasi-experimental analysis of large-scale surveys in India and Bangladesh.

She has a PhD from the University of Zurich and studied Economics at the University of Göttingen.

वियोला अस्री आईएफएमआर में इंक्लूजन इकोनॉमिक्स इंडिया सेंटर में संबद्ध शोधकर्ता हैं। वह Chr में एक वरिष्ठ शोधकर्ता हैं। बर्गेन (नॉर्वे) में मिशेलसन इंस्टीट्यूट और कोन्स्टानज़ विश्वविद्यालय (जर्मनी) में उत्कृष्टता के क्लस्टर “असमानता की राजनीति” में एक प्रमुख अन्वेषक। वह IEIC में एजेंट्स ऑफ सोशल चेंज प्रोजेक्ट (AoSC) की सह-नेतृत्व करती हैं।

Vinay Nagaraju

Executive Director

Vinay is the Executive Director of Inclusion Economics India Centre at IFMR/Krea University. He leads the overall administration of our rapidly growing initiative based in New Delhi with program activities in several states. He oversees the core teams and helps manage the research programs by providing strategic leadership alongside our partners at Yale University. Vinay has about two decades of international professional experience in leadership and strategic management roles.

Prior to joining Inclusion Economics at IFMR, he was a Quantitative Methods Instructor, at Harvard Kennedy School, Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy and a Democracy Governance Fellow at Harvard’s Ash Center. He is a Visiting Professor and on the Academic Board at the African Development University.

Vinay graduated from Harvard Kennedy School’s Mid-Career MPA as an Edward S. Mason Fellow (2017). He holds an MBA from University of Oxford (2009) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Bangalore University (2001). He is a StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellow (2007).
